All About Tahoe City

Tahoe City is situated on beautiful Lake Tahoe, which is on the border of California and Nevada. Tahoe City was founded in 1863 and started as a supply area for various lumber companies. Many people who worked for these companies decided to find some land to make this their home. However, because of the rough winters, the population stayed low. After World War II, the road conditions improved, bringing many new families into the area.

There are so many things to see and do in the area. One of the most popular things to do in Tahoe City is to travel down the Truckee River in a raft. Paddles and life vests are included, and you can make the 5 mile trek to River Ranch and eat upon arrival.

Situated just outside of Tahoe City is Burton Creek State Park. There are many hiking and cross-country skiing trails in the park, as there are six miles of unpaved roadways.

You can discover the breath-taking scenery of Lake Tahoe when you take a sunset cruise in the lake. You can view the stunning colors as the sun falls below the horizon. You can also get a glimpse of the majestic mountain peaks in the area.

Tahoe City is an ideal destination if you want to go skiing, as the area has amazing slopes. The region is also popular to go snow boarding or snowmobiling. The scenery is awe-inspiring.
